What Is The Difference Between The Gift Of Prophecy And The Office Of A Prophet?

Scripture encourages all Believers to desire spiritual gifts, especially that they may Prophesy. The Gift of Prophecy is given by the Holy Spirit to edify, exhort, and comfort the Church. Yet, while many may prophesy, not all are called to the Office of a Prophet.

The Gift of Prophecy is like a general practitioner-a spiritual tool for encouragement and edification where as the Prophet is like a specialist.

Prophecy is one of the 9 Gifts of the Holy Spirit where as the Prophet of God is a Gift to the Body of Christ functioning in his Office as one of the 5-Fold Gifts/Ministries that Christ left to Church.

The Prophet’s Mantle comes with a level of Divine Authority from God as a part of his spirtual equipment for the Body. The Prophet sees farther and deeper into things, bringing resolution to issues operating in a spiritual power that the other Offices do not carry. They are not only a voice of Direction but also specialize in Deliverance, even so much as ‘raising the dead’ back to life as Prophets have always been Deliverers operating in the Ressurection Life of Christ. They carry a Mantle that breaks Demonic Strongholds and shifts situations with a ‘word’ or ‘action’ from God.

Scriptures: 1 Corinthians 14:1-3, Ephesians 4:11-12, 1 Samuel 16:13, 2 Kings 2:9-15, Acts 4:33, Revelation 19:10

Is It Biblical To Sow Into Prophecy, Anointing or Impartation?

The Gifts of God were never meant to be for merchandise. Jesus commanded His disciples ‘to freely give what they freely received.’ While people may choose to donate voluntarily, Prophecy, Anointings or Impartations itself was never meant to be manipulated for Profit.

Take notice of Apostle Peter’s wording as he sharply rebukes Simon the Sorcerer for trying to purchase the Holy Spirit’s Anointing. “Thy money perish with thee because thou hast thought that the Gift of God may be purchased with money!” Although Impartation is a Biblical concept like when Elijah passed the Mantle to Elisha, Moses to Joshua or Jesus to His disciples, the Modern Church often oversells it.

They treat the Anointing like a product - promising instant success if you sow money into their Ministry. But the truth is, true Impartation comes only by the leading of the Holy Spirit. It is for service, not for fame. So, we come with humble hearts and consecrated lives, knowing the Anointing is for God’s glory, not our own buying, or Hollywood Lifestyles.

The Holy Spirit distributes Gifts as He wills. Neither Prophecy or the Anointing of the Holy Spirit cannot be bought. The Holy Spirit is not moved by your social status, education or influence.

SCRIPTURES: Matthew 10:8, Acts 8:20, Isaiah 55:1, 2 Peter 2, Acts 8:18–23, 1 Corinthians 12:11, Romans 12:6, John 3:27

Is There Still New Testament Prophets Today?

Scripture clearly states that there are New Testament Prophets starting from John The Baptist onwards. When Jesus ascended after His Ressurection, He gave gifts to men and these gifts are: Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers for the profecting of the Saints. All 5 Offices of Ministry must be in operation together in the New Testament Church in honour of Christ Resurrection and His mandate for us as His Body.

Scriptures: Ephesians 4:7-13;9:10; 1 Corinthians 4:11, Acts 1:8-9; 2:33, Romans 12:6-8, John 14:16-17, John 16:17

What Is a 'Seed' According To Scripture?

Jesus clearly taught that the seed is the Word of God not money. Some Leaders in the Modern Day Church has taken this out of context, teaching people that their finances are a seed. ‘Giving’ is Biblical and it is done freely and cheerfully. But the idea that money itself is a seed to be sown into people’s ministries is unbiblical. This teaching has gravely abused the Body of Christ through greed and manipulation. Ministers who teach this will at some point be accountable to God.

SCRIPTURE: 2 Timothy 2:15, 2 Corinthians 5:10, Matthew 12:36, 1 Timothy 6:10, Acts 8:20-23, Isaiah 55:1, and 2 Peter 2:3.

If Someone Give Me A Prophecy, Should I Test It?

Both Old and New Testament clearly states that all prophetic words must be tested for our own protection. Any Prophet who is not held accountable to God’s Word is a False Prophet. All prophecy must line up with Scripture, bear inner witness, and produce the Fruit of the Spirit - truth, love, and a focus on Jesus Christ. Leaders must be accountable, and the Church must provide safety so that no one is misled or taken advantage of. Jesus gave His life for the sheep, and we must guard their souls. Any Prophet that does encourage the testing of his words is somebody that is questionable.

Scriptures: 1 Corinthians 14:9, 1 Thessalonians 5:20-21, 1 John 4:1, Colosians 3:15, Deuteronomy 19:15, Isaiah 8:20, Matthew 7:15-20, Acts 17:11, 2 Corinthians 5:10, John 10:11, Ephesians 4:15, 2 Peter 2:3, Acts 17:11, Galatians 1:8–9, 2 Timothy 3:16–17.

Are My Dreams Or Visions From God?

Scripture says that as the end of this age approaches, God will pour out His Spirit upon all flesh, and He will speak to His people through dreams and visions. It is therefore important for God's people to take their dreams and visions seriously and to prayerfully discern whether the Lord may be speaking through them. Through the Gift of Spiritual Discernment, Prophets have been given the ability to perceive and interpret dreams and visions just like men such as Daniel, Joseph, Peter, Agabus, and John did. Biblically speaking-one of the true marks of the prophetic office is dream interpretation. It's a vital part of their spiritual equipment. They discern between God’s voice, the demonic, and human origin, even in mixtures. Since God speaks in dreams, this must be handled with reverence and maturity so that the Prophet, by God’s calling, brings clarity, aligns with Scripture, and keeps God’s people on the right path.

Scripture: 1 John 4:1, Isaiah 8:20, Matthew 7:16, John 10:11, and Joel 2:28.

Why Are There So Many False Prophets Today?

Today, the Prophetic Office has often been glamorized into a Hollywood style image with luxury, status, flashy appearances, and being treated like celebrities, with crowds serving them and platforms built on popularity, not purity. This shapes what people expect, subtly grooming the Body of Christ toward image over substance.

In contrast, the true Prophets of God, in both the Old and New Covenants, did not lead glamorous lives. They were humble, meek, and sacrificial—rarely seen, hidden in the secret place with God. They were not driven by money, fame, or approval. They were men who were feared, rejected, and often suffered—roaming deserts, mountains, starving, homeless, and even imprisoned. Yet, they carried a deep, quiet strength, living sacrificially, never seeking their own glory, but always pointing people to God. The Prophets asked nothing from anybody and would even so much as give their life for the Church.

Scripture: Jeremiah 1:5, Jeremiah 20:9, 1 Kings 19:10, 1 Kings 19:13, Hebrews 11:36–38, Matthew 3:4, Matthew 5:12

What Is The Difference Between A True And A False Prophet?

Scripture teaches that ‘we will know a tree by its fruit.’ A true Prophet of God will always point people to Jesus Christ, never to themselves. A true Prophet of God’s Prophecies and Directives will always line up with the Word of God in every way. A true prophet of the Lord will encourage people to test the prophecies and directions they give. True Prophets always point to the one true God, Jesus; False Prophets always point to a false god, demons, or themselves. True Prophets are not driven by money, popularity, worldly status, or the praise of men. Instead, they walk in humility, purity, holiness, and the Fear of the Lord. They spend much time alone with God, seeking His voice, and when He sends them, they speak His Word with boldness and without compromise.

False prophets, on the other hand, are on a constant pursuit of wealth and sensuality, often presenting a Hollywood-style image of success. They promote themselves, seeking personal recognition and luxury, rather than living in humility and obedience. True prophets, by contrast, seek only to glorify Christ. They never demand money, worship, or special treatment; instead, they point us back to Jesus, for He alone is worthy.

Scripture: Matthew 7:16-20, 1 Thessalonians 5:20-21, 1 Corinthians 14:29, James 3:1, Revelation 19:10

Why Is There So Little Power In The Modern-Church Today?

The Modern-Day Church lacks the true Power of God because Leadership has not taught the proper Gospel of Jesus Christ to His Body but has focused more on carnality by pleasing the flesh, sermons without demonstration of power, luncheons and weekly meetings. Its more like a social club rather than teaching and showing fruits of repentance, sacrifice, fasting, holiness, love for one another, consecretation to the Holy Spirit.

In the last couple 100 years, the Religious Community develeped Bible Schools indoctrinating its students that leaves out the true calling of an Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist and Teacher, certifying only the Office of the Pastor for Modern-Day Church. As a result, this structure has limited the full expression of God’s power in the church. The concern isn’t education itself but that all 5 Ministries must work together.

The Modern-day Church has largely lost the power and influence that once defined the Body of Christ, not because God has changed, but because much of its leadership has drifted from the full Gospel of Jesus Christ. In many quarters, the focus has moved from spiritual revolution to political appeasement - keeping the peace, pleasing the masses, preserving status, and avoiding real transformation. Instead of bold prophetic action, we see sanitized sermons and sanitized faith.

Religious systems have become political machines, training students for pastoral roles but often silencing the voice of Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, and Teachers. This imbalance has shackled the Church, limiting its voice in the public square, in governance, and in moral leadership. The crisis before us is not just spiritual and political. It demands that all 5 Ministries rise in unity. Only then can we see a Church that not only speaks but acts with the full Power of God, shaping the future of our society.

SCRIPTURE: 2 Timothy 3:5, Mark 16:17–18, John 14:12, Hebrews 2:4, 1 Corinthians 4:20

Is It Biblical To Sow Into Your Healing Or Deliverance ?

Absolutely not. To even suggest sowing money into deliverance or healing is a blatant scam, a grave perversion of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and a grief to the Holy Spirit. Not once did Jesus demand a financial transaction before He cast out demons or healed the broken. Neither the Apostles nor the Prophets in the Old or New Testament ever did this. In fact, it was always the opposite - freely given, freely received.

But today, on TV, YouTube, and across the Body at large, this movement has spread, and it’s complete nonsense. These Millionaire Preachers have infiltrated the Body of Christ, robbing God's people, grieving His heart and leaving a trial of devastation for their own persoal gain. The Gospel is free. Anything else is a perversion, a shameful distortion of Scripture, and a deep wound to the Body of Christ.

Scripture: 1 Kings 17:8–24, 2 Kings 4:1–7, 2 Kings 5:1–14, 2 Kings 5:20–27, Act6s 2:22, Acts 2:43, Acts 5:12–16, Acts 6:8,  Acts 19:11–12,
Matthew 4:23–24, Matthew 8:1–4, Luke 7:11–17, John 9:1–7, John 11:1–44.

Do Prophets Tell The Future?

Yes, at times the prophets of God did foretell future events, but their primary role was never to be fortune tellers. They were seldom seen by the public, often dwelling in solitude—on mountaintops, in deserts—living close to God. When they appeared, they brought power, speaking God’s word with authority, calling people to repentance and holiness. They provided real solutions—caring for widows, restoring justice, confronting injustice. They never asked for anything from anyone, yet people willingly gave what they had, trusting that God would honor them, because these were God’s men. And always, they pointed people back to Jesus Christ, never themselves.

Today, we need God to raise up true Prophets globally to work with Pastors and other Ministers to restore the Prophetic voice in the modern church before Christ returns.

Scripture: 1 Kings 17:8-16; 1 Kings 17:17-24; 2 Kings 5:1-19; Matthew 10:41; Amos 3:7; Luke 3:7; Jeremiah 1:5; Jeremiah 23:18-22; Isaiah 6:1-8.

Do Prophets Make Mistakes?

Scripture is clear. God confirmed His prophets' words, yet the Bible also shows that prophets were human and capable of making mistakes.

Samuel, for example, went through multiple sons, assuming the wrong one was God’s choice until God revealed David. Elisha prophesied victory over Moab, but that promise did not come to pass. Elijah also prophesied victory when the Israelites were desperate for water in the desert, but the outcome unfolded differently than expected. Jonah proclaimed Nineveh’s destruction, yet God relented when they repented.

The fact that Prophets could still make mistakes is exactly why the schools of the Prophets existed. If Prophets automatically prophesied perfectly from the start, there would be no need for the schools of the prophets. These schools existed so seasoned prophets could train others, guiding them to speak accurately, live godly lives, and discern truth.

As the New Testament says, we see through a glass dimly, and we know in part. Yet we must remain vigilant, because many False Prophets infiltrate the church. Some use divination or social media data mining to create the illusion of revelation—exposing personal details and facts and creating a false impression of prophecy. Yet all Believers are called to earnestly desire the Gift of Prophecy, because this is how God speaks to His church

Scripture: 1 Samuel 16:6-12, 2 Kings 2:3, 1 Corinthians 13:12, 1 Corinthians 13:9.

Can God Restore The Prophetic?

Can the prophetic voice rise again in today’s church? We declare a resounding yes. This is the hour for the prophetic to be reborn. As the 5-Fold Ministry comes together, we will build up the Saints and restore a pure, radiant prophetic movement that exalts Jesus and not man.

But true Prophets must rise and speak boldly, for we need a deep housecleaning. Sexual abuse, false teachings, money scandals, coercion for money, people paying for deliverance, healing, and impartation-this complete and utter nonsense has shattered lives, turned souls from Christ and brought shame to His name. These self-proclaimed Prophets like predators has groomed the Body of Christ and in their lavish lifestyles, they perpetuated a cover-up culture in the name of Jesus. This is horrific shame that is so-called ‘honor’ is really a narcissistic worship of themselves.

Scripture: Titus 1:6-9, Ephesians 5:27, 1 John 4, 2 Peter 2, Ephesians 5:11, John 3:20, Micah 3:8, John 8:12, 1 Timothy 6:5, Jude 1:11, Psalm 133, Matthew 14:4, Matthew 12:34, 1 Kings 18:18, Isaiah 11:17, Ephesians 5:27

Why Do False Prophets Sell Sonships?

Sonship is not for sale. One of the greatest deceptions in the Church today is the selling of "spiritual sonship." Many self-proclaimed Prophets are charging people money to become their spiritual sons and daughters. This practice is not only unbiblical but a major breach of God’s order. Jesus never charged anyone for salvation; He never sold access to God’s family. The invitation into God’s family has always been free through faith in Christ.

Scripture says that ‘those who are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God.’ If you are born of the Spirit, you are already a son or daughter of God. No Prophet, Apostle, Pastor, or Minister can sell you what God has already freely given you. Scripture also says ‘we are not to call any man on earth our father.’ Any minister who demands payment for sonship is a False Prophet. This shows him to be illegitimate, and any of his sons and daughters are illegitimate as well. This is a hired hand, not willing to lay down his life for the sheep, as Scripture commands. It breaks God’s heart, because it causes them, at times, even resulting in their own lost soul. A true New Testament Prophet, like John the Baptist, points the way to Jesus, humbly, and speaks the Word of God with power. If you are chosen by God, you already are His son.

Scriptures: Romans 8:14, Galatians 4:6-7, John 1:12, Matthew 10:8,
Isaiah 55:1, 1 Timothy 1:2, 1 Corin6thians 4:17, Matthew 23:9, 2 Peter 2:3, Acts 8:20.

Is Revival Coming To The Church In The Last Days?

On the contrary, Scripture actually states the complete opposite. No where in the Bible do we see a mass revival before Christ’s return. Instead, Scripture warns us of a growing apostasy, a great deception, and a falling away. Jesus said that ‘iniquity shall abound, and the love of many shall wax cold’. Paul warned that many would give heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils and People will gather to themselves teachers having itching ears.

Revival is an exciting idea. It fills churches, stirs emotions, but it distracts from the hard truth of Scripture. Rather this is what Jesus said this to the end-time church in the book of Revelation: "I have this against you, that you have left your first love." Yet, this does not mean God cannot revive your own heart if your walk has grown cold. He can rekindle that flame by studying Scripture.

The great news  is Revival  can happen in our own personal life. The Holy Spirit is more than able and willing to revive our own cold and hardened hearts and set us fire for him so that we would not be found without our first love being lukewarm at the end and be spit out of his mouth.

Scripture: Matthew 5:6, Isaiah 55:6, James 4:8

Should Prophets Be Accountable?

Absolutely. Prophets like any human can make mistakes. In fact, scripture says we "see through a glass dimly". We know in part, and we prophesy in part. For example, Samuel, a great prophet, made judgment errors. Even Noah, who walked with God, struggled with drinking and immorality. David, a king after God’s own heart, fell into adultery. And Samson, mighty in anointing, had sexual flaws.

We need new systems in the church. We must restore accountability so that the people of God are safe. Prophets should not be above reproach or beyond question. Through these new systems, newcomers can trust, and through the prophetic anointing, even wounded hearts can be restored. Prophecy will then flourish in a healthy, humble, and God-ordained way.

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 13:12, Romans 12:6, 1 Samuel 16:7, Genesis 9:20-21, 2 Samuel 11, Judges 16, James 5:16, Matthew 18:15-1

Is It Biblical To Break Generational Curses?

Absolutely not. The Bible never instructs us to break generational curses through some formulaic prayer or declaration. In fact, this is a modern trend—something that has crept into the body of Christ in the last few years. The truth is, God Himself is the one who declared the consequences of idolatry. In Exodus and Deuteronomy, He said, "Do not bow down to false gods or serve them, or I will visit the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generation." But—and this is critical—when we come to Christ, everything changes. Jesus bore every curse on the cross. Scripture says we are now new creations in Him—our sins forgiven, our chains broken. If God has cursed you, no man can bless you. And if God has blessed you, no man can curse you.

In fact, these so-called "false prophets" are the ones who get people to bow down to them, making themselves the focus—false gods in their own right. The very thing they claim to free you from, they are actually entangling you with. The truth is, when you come to Christ, you are free indeed—no gimmicks, no trends, just the power of His finished work on the cross.

Scripture: Exodus 20:5–6, Exodus 34:6–7, Numbers 14:18, Deuteronomy 5:9–10, Galatians 3:13, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Romans 8:1–2, 1 Peter 1:18–19.

Is Once Saved Always Saved?

There is a massive fallacy in today’s Church culture that says ‘Once saved always saved’ and that once you say the ‘Sinners Prayer’, you are guaranteed Heaven no matter how you live. Yet there is no such pray recorded in Scripture. Paul himself said that he walked out his salvation with fear and trembling, in great concern that even he might be disqualified. Jesus said we must take up our cross daily, deny ourselves and die to our flesh. He said that only those who do the Will of the Father will enter the Kingdom of Heaven and He warned that faith without works is dead. So that means you can’t just live how you want to live. You have to crucify your flesh and live Holy as a daily sacrififice unto God as your reasonable service with the Fear of God in your heart and in your walk. In Revelations it shows that names were blotted out of the Book of Life-meaning that they were in there at one point. In conclusion, thinking that you can just say a magic prayer and live how you want thinking that God owes you heaven is a terrible lie from the pit of Hell. It has created many False Converts-people who think they’re saved but they are not. Many will come to Jesus on that day saying ‘Didn’t we heal the sick, prophesy in your name and do many deeds? And He will say ‘Away from me, I never knew you. Its is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the Living God.

Scripture: Genesis 6:3, Philippians 2:12, Galatians 3:1-3, Matthew 7:21, Matthew 10:28, James 2:17, James 2:24, and Revelation 3:5.
